Room 13 Torrin - Grand Opening!!!! May 2010
The team worked through the winter with the support of the local community to convert this old byre into their new studio. To highlight this fantastic effort, we have documented the whole process with a special photo story on flickr.
January 2010 and Room 13 Torrin is open for business! From now on, the team will be hosting Art Sessions and regular meetings in their 'new' studio. Day one saw the artists helping to completely empty the old byre ready to be 'magically'
transformed into our new studio - Room 13 Torrin.
work to be done emptying the last bits and pieces (see photo of our
trailer ride with the last load!!) then the floor needed to be swept
and the inside of the roof needed to be cleaned ready for painting. It was great fun and we all had hot chocolate afterwards to warm
our frosty fingers and toes!
Room 13 Torrin is a community studio on the Isle of Skye. They held
their first AGM on Sunday 22nd November 2009 and elected a management
committee - Chairperson,
Secretary, Treasurer and two managing directors.

Room 13 Torrin - Grand Opening!!!
Congratulations to the artists of Room 13 Torrin who staged the grand opening of their studio in May. This was the result of a massive effort by the community to convert an old barn owned by resident artist Rebecca Smith into an art studio for the community.
